Broken Britain

Words can’t express how sick I feel right now. I honestly did not think we would wake up this morning to the news that the vote to leave the EU won.

Brexit’s here and already happening, and it’s fucking bleak.

I don’t understand the reasons behind why people voted out. Looking at the statistics they show that that the majority of the voting population that voted to leave were those aged 65 and over. The elderly, who are set in their ways, blind to see to what impact this has on their younger generation. The people, who in about 20 or so years time, won’t be around to be affected by it. Once again their vote has left the younger generation – who are trying to make the world a better place – have fucked it up for us.

In the space of a few hours we’ve:

  • left the security of the EU
  • had David Cameron resign
  • seen Nigel Farage backtrack in his £350 million claim that they would use that money to fund the NHS
  • no longer the 5th largest economy in the world as the pound becomes increasingly worthless.

There is nothing united about this situation or it’s outcome. We have no idea what the future holds for us now, and it’s terrifying. Who will take over as our new Prime Minister? I don’t even want to think about it.

When the country is on it’s arse, I hope the ‘brexiters’ will finally open their eyes and see what they have done, what they have chosen for us. Because it’s not gonna be pretty.
