Mental Health Awareness Week takes place this week, 8th – 14th May, and this year’s theme is simply, surviving, or thriving?
Mental Health Foundation states ‘Good mental health is more than the absence of a mental health problem. This year, rather than ask why so many people are living with mental health problems, we will seek to uncover why too few of us are thriving with good mental health.’
I think this is a good theme idea this year. A lot of factors play a part in constituting the state of our mental health and wellbeing. This week can open up conversations on the topic and highlight the steps we need to take, or should be taking to increase positive mental health and mindfulness, to transition us from the state of ‘surviving’, to ‘thriving.’
I hope to post throughout the week on the subject, so keep an eye out! 🙂
